They even mailed us stickers with our ballots  this year in Colorado.

Not kidding, I googled how they validate signatures here because my “official paperwork” and “rental car agreement” signatures are so different. Wanted to make sure I used the right one.

I did about two weeks ago.

One good thing about Utah is it’s primarily a vote-by-mail state that allows voters to drop off ballots at designated areas instead of mailing your ballot in.

I was telling someone this would be the first election since 1996 that I'm not working at a tv station, doing election coverage. It feels weird, man.

So you have to sign and put your name on the ballot?

In France, the vote is totally anonymous, it’s actually forbidden to put any sign on the ballot, making it invalid.

A relative of mine does lighting design for national Election Day specials, and the whole media business sounds unbelievably difficult and stressful for things like this

oh god, it’s simultaneously the most amazing-best job in the world and the most stressful-worst job in the world. the highs of working in tv news are awesome and the lows are awful, and it’s like that whether you’re in small-town Missouri or CNN.

I gave everything I had to work in TV for pretty much the entirety of my life from 1994 until 2019. What’s funny or messed up, take your pick, is I’d go back to that line of work in a heartbeat.

You have to sign the envelope and it’s presumably to verify that each person can only vote once.

The person who has illegally used my address to register their vehicle  is apparently not registered to vote, but the signature requirement would prevent me from also completing their ballot if one had been mailed to my house.
